Castroville was once the county seat of Medina County, Texas prior to 1893. As of the 2010 census, there are an estimated 2,680 residents of this city with continued growth. It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area and is about 20 miles west of San Antonio’s downtown area.
